Starfield Reveal Will be “Worth the Wait,” Says Bethesda’s Pete Hines

"If the game is not ready to show, there is not a whole lot we can do until it’s ready," says Hines.

It’s been over two years since Starfield was first announced, which in turn was preceded by a prolonged period of leaks and rumours about the project, but in the time since its official reveal, we haven’t heard a peep about the game from its developers- and it’s going to be a while longer before we do. Just earlier this month, Bethesda’s SVP of marketing and PR Pete Hines said that there wouldn’t be any updates on the upcoming sci-fi RPG this year, and recently he spoke about the matter once more.

During a recent Bethesda livestream (transcribed by Twinfinite), Hines explicitly said once again that the game’s reveal is a while away, owing to the fact that it’s simply not ready to be shown yet.

“Look, my life would be a lot easier if we were ready to show and talk about what the team is working on,” Hines said. “Anybody can do marketing when the game is ready to show, right? Just show the game.

“If the game is not ready to show, there is not a whole lot we can do until it’s ready. I don’t know, what do you want from me? I can’t make it up.”

Hines did, however, add that once Bethesda do show Starfield, fans will be satisfied with the unveiling, and will find that it was worth the wait.

“The only thing that I can tell you is that when we finally get around it, when we finally get around to talk what it’s up to, I think you will be impressed,” he said. “I think you will be excited. I think you will say ‘that looks like it’s worth the wait.'”

“But we’ll see,” he added. “It’s gonna be a while til we get there.”

How long “a while” will be remains to be seen, but hopefully whenever that reveals come, Hines’ words will ring true and it’ll have been worth the wait. Until then, stay tuned to GamingBolt, and we’ll keep you updated on all updates that come our way.
