With the significant lack of major quality first party releases on Xbox Series X/S over the last year and a half, all eyes have been on Starfield for a while, and with Redfall having failed to live up to expectations (to say the very least), the pressure is high than ever on Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG to deliver an unforgettable experience. The game is, of course, due out this September, and ahead of its launch, it has hit an important milestone.

Starfield has now been officially rated by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB), the ratings board for North America, as evidenced by the header image used on the game’s official Twitter page. Classification ratings generally tend to happen in the later stages of a game’s development process and closer to its release, suggesting that Bethesda Game Studios’ long-awaited RPG is on track to hit its launch.

In the wake of Redfall’s disastrous release, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has given assurances that Microsoft has been better with assisting its development than it was for Redfall, and that unlike what it did with Arkane’s shooter, it will clearly communicate its console frame rate targets ahead of release.

The game will also be highlighted in the upcoming Starfield Direct next month, where significant new gameplay details will be shared.

Starfield is due out on September 6 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
