Game Overview:
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is a collection of several Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid games.
It includes Metal Gear (MSX and NES versions), Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Snake’s Revenge, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
The PS4 version launches on the same day as Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch and targets a 1080p resolution at 60 FPS.
The Nintendo Switch version of the collection targets 1080p/30 FPS when docked while targeting 720p/30 FPS in handheld mode.
While Konami won't be changing any potentially controversial scenes from Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, every game will have a content warning at the start.
The collection will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 24.
Konami will detail its release date and price later. The PS4 version will be digital-only, unlike on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
Konami confirms that the performance and resolution of both titles will match the HD Collection, though they run at 30 FPS on Nintendo Switch.
The series has collectively generated over $1 billion in revenue for Konami, the publisher confirms.
The upcoming collection's ESRB rating also mentions a PlayStation 4 version, which has yet to be officially announced.
However, the Nintendo Switch physical release of the collection will still require you to download data for usage.
Placeholder buttons for the three titles, potentially leading to future pages for Vol. 2, have been discovered on Konami's site.
The compilation will release for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch, with pre-orders live. A new trailer is also available.
The website for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection lists Vol. 1's three games and a "?" followed by "Stay tuned for more information."
For Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Konami will be using their HD Collection versions from 2011.
Out this Autumn, the collection includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
The collection will allegedly be multiplatform and include remastered versions of the first three Metal Gear Solid games.
The remasters will allegedly be purchasable separately and individually, and are said to be launching for PC and consoles.
