Lies of P continues to build hype with each new showing, and given the fact that we’ve seen a fair bit of it in recent days and received new details, it’s no surprise that excitement surrounding the upcoming Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike action RPG is high. At the recent Xbox Games Showcase Extended presentation, developer Neowiz offered another extensive look at the game, revealing a host of new details.

Lies of P will allow players to create their own weapons, with hundreds of options supposedly being available once you really get down to mixing and matching with the tools that you’ll have at your disposal. Beyond that, combat will also allow you to use your Legion Arm, which is a prosthetic arm that is capable of unleashing special abilities, which, in turn, will use up a gauge.

Players can, of course, also expect to run into plenty of horrifying enemies. Puppets will be found aplenty in the game’s gothic Bell Epoche setting, but you’ll also be crossing paths with a variety of monstrosities, including bone-crunching monsters. Meanwhile, if a particular boss should prove to be too challenging, summoning a spirit to aid you will also be an option, in true Soulslike fashion.

Progression mechanics have also been detailed- P will be able to use what’s known as the P Organ, which will allow players to optimize and power up themselves by spending a currency called Quartz to unlock new slots. Meanwhile, Lies of P will also bring in choice and consequence mechanics that will tie in neatly with the Pinocchio setting- do you want to lie to an NPC to bring comfort to them, or do you want to tell them the cold harsh truth of what’s going on in the world?

Check out the video below for more details.

Lies of P launches on September 19 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, and PC. A demo is also currently available.
